Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the class schedule?

    Classes will be 11:30am-6:00pm on Thursdays and 8:30am-4:00pm on Fridays, one week per month for four months.  Meals, snacks and beverages will be provided during class sessions.


    Thursday sessions include networking time. 


    Once per month there will be a 90-minute virtual collaboration session with the instructor regarding the  group exercises/collaboration labs for each Module; these sessions are scheduled on Thursday 4:30-6:00pm, two weeks after each Module session. 


    A philanthropy day is scheduled on a Saturday during the course of the Program.

  • Where are the classes located?

    Classes will be held on campus at SMU.

  • What happens if I miss a class?

    To benefit from the full Tech CxO Excellence Program experience, 100% participation in all classes is required, and absences are not permitted.

  • What is the outcome of the Program?

    The Program is Pass/Fail. Enrollees will receive a Professional Certificate from SMU as well as a Virtual Certificate they may post on their LinkedIn profile at the conclusion of the Program. As well, each Cohort will join a growing network of Program Alumni.  

  • How much does the Program cost?

    The Program cost is $11,749, and consists of 72 hours of face-to face instruction and learning time.  SMU offers an early incentive discount of $500 which is available for a limited time before the start of each Cohort.

  • What is the admission process?

    Potential candidates may explore Program Qualification through our qualifier surveys linked from our home page: www.TechCxOLaunchPad.com. 


    Once candidates are ready to apply for the Program, they will complete a brief application on SMUs website: https://www.smu.edu/cape/programs/certificates/tech-cxo. 


    Upon acceptance into the Program, enrollees will receive a formal invitation packet with schedule and other pertinent information.



  • Who are the Program instructors?

    The Tech CxO Excellence Program is taught by dozens of industry professionals including current and former CIOs and CTOs, as well as other industry executives and subject matter experts.

  • About TECH CxO LaunchPad

    Tech CxO LaunchPad (TCLP) is the group who brought the Technology Ball to DFW. It also includes an esteemed advisory board of some of DFWs most influential IT Leaders. TCLP is building the next generation of technology executives through a multi-modal, immersive experience, with curriculum and course leadership developed and delivered by current and former C-Suite technology executives.
